Sacred Journey Post 11: Honeysuckle

While at the lion's bridge i was offered a honeysuckle by a classmate. although i was unable to recover any of the sweet nectar, the naturalistic aspect of gathering food gave me a flashback to the days of our ancestors. i could picture early humans living very simply wearing furs and carrying spears. it made me wonder what they would have thought of the idea of spirituality. i believe that they would say that it means a strong connection to the earth and the animals and the plants. early human realized that we are just animals like all the rest and that by straying from our natural roots we are inherently moving away from the basis of spirituality. the earliest humans did not have any idea of religion but they knew what it meant to have spirit. i feel bad for those who can only see spirituality through a religious lens.
