Irigaray's Between East and West
The author focuses a difference of prayer based on breathing during prayer. Western praying focus on individuality while Eastern focuses on breathing, form, and other stuff. Hindu and Buddhism focuses on yoga where as Christianity focuses on kneeling. Yoga can include chants in order to make it more communal. The idea of breathing is it is a reminder of the gift of living, it is a way to use less work in order to fully pray, and to stress the significance of breathing. Some say breathing is cultural constructed which is expressed even more in times of anger, fear and other extreme feelings of emotion.
