#3 The Phenomenology of Prayer

3.) “If it is always darkest just before the dawn, we might find our way forward by seeing the problem in its starkest form.” P. 28 The Phenomenology of Prayer

I can’t begin to count how many times I’ve made the wrong choices or messed up by choice due to acting before thinking. Realizing that nothing really is as it seems is a key understanding to people and circumstances. Yes, the statement, “it’s too good to be true” is accurate more so than not. Making decisions aren’t always easy but I’d say humans are considerably familiar with the process considering we make numerous decisions every minute. Seeing something for what it truly is takes time, and a substantial amount of depth. Regarding people, it’s difficult to always know someone’s true intentions but that’s  a risk that needs to be taken, not foolishly or carelessly considered. If we could see tragedy, heart break, or deception at it’s starkest form, we would certainly avoid it and also have more of an understanding of why things happened the way they did. If we could see darkness at it’s plainest stage, we would not waste time and energy prior to finding darkness in the end.

Be alert, be intentional
