while reading phenomenology of prayer i came across this section that resonated with me. inner resolve in the strongest driving force in my life and it guides me to help others.
"It is impossible to pray to a personal God –
that is, love a personal God – and remain indifferent to your suffering
brethren. It is impossible. Anyone who prays without suffering for his
suffering brothers is praying to a pole, a shadow, not to the living God. "
i believe that this could be interpreted in many different ways. although i do not believe in a "god", i think that the moment being described is universal. the voice of "god" can be the inner monologue that all humans hear, we are all equals. when we are at our lowest it is the best time to look within yourself in order to improve your situation. you must know your problems in order to solve them.
