Shattering the Box
7 “But ask the beasts, and they will teach you;
the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you;
8 or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you;[a]
and the fish of the sea will declare to you.
9 Who among all these does not know
that the hand of the Lord has done this?
10 In his hand is the life of every living thing
and the breath of all mankind.
the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you;
8 or the bushes of the earth, and they will teach you;[a]
and the fish of the sea will declare to you.
9 Who among all these does not know
that the hand of the Lord has done this?
10 In his hand is the life of every living thing
and the breath of all mankind.
Through reading the Book of Job in the Bible, there is much to learn about suffering, and the perseverance therein. However, this passage stuck out to me the most throughout my reading. I have never been one for "communication" with nature or even with God through interaction with nature. However, as I read this, I think my worldview and my understanding of God has been shattered. I think so often we as Christians attempt to put God in this box that fits our limited understanding of Him instead of allowing Him to just work in the ways that only He can. This is something that shattered that "box" that I had unknowingly created and placed Him in.
