 The Sun: His Glory

The sun reflecting on the James as it descends into the horizon is a sight that never seems to get old. Whenever I am looking into the soul of a sunset, I am in complete awe that I am seeing a glimpse of the glory of God through such a beautiful sight. It reminds me that there are going to be seasons of my life where I can feel and see the darkness upon me, but there is still beauty to be found in every situation; that no matter my circumstances the glory of God is still all around me through His creation, and the sunset helps in me seeing this. It is here where I am reminded of C.S. Lewis saying:

"A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling 'darkness' on the wall of his cell."

His glory is revealed through His creation, and the sunset is a part of it that I am unable to ever get enough of. Even if I watch sun set and my heart is not in a place of worship and wonder, His glory still remains.
