Class Nature Visit

Being out on the Noland Trail is a tranquil experience. I frequently come to the park, but listening to Dr. Reddick speak about all of its qualities, both obvious and inconspicuous, I began to think about the trail in a new way. I noticed things I didn't notice before. The symphony of sounds all around me. I felt the breeze on my skin as we stood by the river. I heard the soft crash of the waves on the grey sharp rocks next to the delicate brown sand. I witnessed the dance of the ragweed with the wind. The crunch of earth and sea beneath my feet. The contrast of life and death surrounded me. Every little thing on the trail was on a different point in their lifespan, just as we are all on a point in our own spiritual journeys. There was no right and wrong way of existing on the trail.
