When we first got to the bridge, the first thing I noticed was the smell of the James River. Unfortunately, that smell was not a very good one which gives one that indication that the water is most likely polluted. Although that seemed to be the only bad thing about the entire experience. The weather was wonderful on this day, which made the walk even more enjoyable. Near the beginning of the trail, there is a large statue that expresses a lot of things about humanity. The statue shows a man trying to tame a wild horse, while others below him are preforming actions that symbolize how civilization came to be and how it is today.
While walking along the trail, we noticed many different things about the nature around us. There were both positive and negative characteristics that this nature possessed. Much of it was very beautiful, while other parts where showing their age or maybe had some type of disease that was causing the plants to deteriorate. I think that the most beautiful thing about the entire trail was the bridge that goes over the water and you can see a lot of the river and growth around it. This was the most peaceful part of the trail and seemed to speak to me the most. I would definitely recommend walking along this small trail to others due to the fact that it is both beautiful and has a great potential to let an individual have a spiritual and/or peaceful experience at any point in time.
